Notch

Privacy policy

Last updated 11 September 2026. Applies to the Notch iOS app and this website.

The short version. The Notch app collects nothing. There is no account, no server and no analytics, and the app makes no network requests. What you set up stays on your iPhone and is deleted with the app. The only thing this website keeps is an email address, and only if you choose to join the launch waitlist.

Who is responsible

Notch is developed and published by Kadir Baran Aksoy, an individual developer, in Türkiye. Contact: kadir.aksoy@outlook.com.tr.

What Notch stores, and where

Everything below is written to your iPhone's own app storage. None of it leaves the device, and none of it reaches me or anyone else.

  • The frequency you matched, and a second one if you set it.
  • The result of the range check.
  • Your sound mix: which sounds are on, their levels, the master volume, the ear balance, whether the frequency gap is on, and the sleep timer.
  • Your listening minutes and day streak.
  • Your language choice and the "play under other audio" setting.
  • Whether you have seen the intro screens.

Notch asks for no permissions. It does not use the microphone, the camera, your location, your contacts, your photos, your health data, or your calendar. It shows no ads, contains no third party SDK, and does not track you across apps or websites.

Subscriptions

Notch Plus is sold through Apple's In App Purchase. Apple handles the payment and I never see your card, your address or your Apple Account details. The app asks Apple whether your subscription is active and stores that answer on the device. Apple's own handling of the purchase is covered by Apple's privacy policy.

Diagnostics

If you have turned on sharing with developers in your iPhone's privacy settings, Apple may send me crash reports. Those come from Apple in aggregate form, contain no personal information, and are not linked to you. You can turn this off in Settings, Privacy and Security, Analytics and Improvements.

Children

Notch is not directed at children under 13 and collects no data from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and Türkiye's KVKK you can ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. For the app there is nothing to ask for, since it gives me no data about you: everything it knows is on your phone, and deleting the app deletes all of it, permanently and without going through me. If you joined the launch waitlist, write to me and I will delete your address.

This website

The pages are hosted on Vercel. There are no cookies, no analytics and no tracking scripts, and nothing is stored in your browser: the language is part of the address. Fonts are served from this site, not from a third party. Vercel, as the host, processes standard server request data such as your IP address to deliver the page, described in Vercel's privacy policy. The only form on the site is the launch waitlist, described next.

Launch waitlist

The home page has an optional form for people who want one email when Notch is out on the App Store. If you use it:

  • What is kept: the email address you type in, and the language of the page you used, so the email arrives in that language. Nothing else.
  • What for: a single launch announcement. No newsletter, no marketing, and the list is never sold or shared.
  • Where: with Resend, the email service that sends the announcement (Resend, Inc., United States), described in Resend's privacy policy.
  • For how long: the list is deleted within 30 days of the launch email going out.
  • Leaving: the launch email carries an unsubscribe link, and you can write to me at any time to have your address removed sooner.

The legal basis is your consent, including to the address being stored in the United States. You give it by sending the form and can withdraw it at any time. The app never sees this list.

Health

Notch plays sound. It is not a medical device, it does not diagnose or treat any condition, and the range check is not a hearing test or an audiogram. Nothing you enter is medical record keeping, and none of it is shared.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page with a new date. Any change that affects how data is handled will be described here rather than quietly replaced.
